CSEM Robots Gone Mad: Project 1
Following the outline below for this project will create paper
1.0. Please do the following:
- Before watching "2001" (again), write a few paragraphs pinpointing
your expectations about it.
- What do you already know (or remember) about it?
- What do you know about its context? Country and historical period
of its origin?
- About the director?
- What do you think will be the most important features of the film?
- The Characters?
- The SciFi? The effects?
- The sound? Mood? Lighting?
How do these expectations lead you to look for certain themes or types
of stories? Explore how you are biased.
- Watch "2001"
- Choose a single short sequence from the film (especially one that
has robotic or AI interactions.) Describe those annotations in clear,
precise prose, using jargon where appropriate.
- Are there any conclusions you can draw, or interpretations you
would make about the sequence?

writing about film", by Timothy Corrigan.
